My name is Patrice Al-Shatti and I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW). I am also the spousal survivor of suicide. My husband of 31 years took his life on July 25, 2012, at the age of 52, and I've been working hard to reconstruct my own life since that time. As a behavioral health professional, I spent many years working with people who faced loss and trauma. I developed programs for those facing cancer and provided support to the families of aging seniors. I built services for families facing the end-of-life of a loved one and provided home support to the disabled.  I worked in many settings, with many missions, but always focused on the emotional, spiritual and practical well-being of the people I served. With FindingUp, I hope to share with you some of the resources and practical strategies that can help us redesign our lives after the suicide loss of a life partner, and, perhaps, share some of the lessons I've learned in my own healing journey. We are in this together, and we can find our way.
